What people come in for

Not a list of conditions, only the reasons people give when they call, and what a visit looks like for each.

  • Back pain that comes and goes

I ask when it flares, what you were doing and how you move, then place needles in the back, hips and sometimes the hands and feet.

  • A stiff neck and tight shoulders

Often desk work or a long drive. I check how the neck turns, and I may add cupping across the shoulders.

  • Headaches that keep coming back

I ask about timing, sleep and screens, and I send you to a doctor first if a headache is new or sudden.

  • Stress that sits in the body

A tight jaw, a held breath, a busy mind at night. The hour itself, quiet and unhurried, is part of the visit.

  • Sleep that will not settle

I ask about your evenings and what you take, and we look for small things to try beside the visits.

  • An old injury that still nags

After your doctor or a physical therapist has seen it, acupuncture can sit beside what they ask you to do.

What acupuncture does not do

It has limits, and you should know them before you book.

  • It does not replace your doctor’s care, your medicine or your physical therapy.
  • It does not give an answer to what is causing your pain; for that, see a doctor.
  • It does not work for everyone, and results vary.
  • It is not an emergency service. Sudden severe pain, chest pain or new weakness or numbness means a doctor or 911, not an appointment.

If I think you need to be seen by someone else first, I say so at the visit and in plain words.
